BESIX celebrates 50 years of activity in the Gulf Region
Abu Dhabi, UAE- On March 24, BESIX and Six Construct celebrated it’s 50 years of activity in the Middle East with 250 distinguished guests including government officials, VIPs, business executives, , and senior management from Six Construct and BESIX Group, at the St. Regis Abu Dhabi. Among the VIP guests celebrating this occasion included HRH Princess Astrid, Princess of Belgium; HE Saeed bin Ahmed Al Otaiba, Partner of Six Construct Co Ltd, Abu Dhabi; Johan Beerlandt, Chief Executive Officer of BESIX Group; Didier Reynders, Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; HE Sulaiman Hamid Al Mazroui, UAE Ambassador to Belgium; and HE Dominique Mineur, Belgian Ambassador to the UAE.
The program for the evening commenced with a beautiful 3D light show, followed by speeches from Johan Beerlandt, Chief Executive Officer of BESIX Group, HE Saeed bin Ahmed Al Otaiba, Partner of Six Construct and Pierre Sironval, Managing Director of Six Construct in the Gulf Region.
“For me the region was always a source of inspiration to fulfill your dreams. An environment where everything happened within a scope of discipline and mutual respect; myself and all of BESIX and Six Construct employees who worked here unanimously agree on that.” stated Johan Beerlandt.
Highlights of Six Construct’s establishments were projected throughout the entire evening, starting with its very first project in the Gulf region in 1965 - to recent developments including Burj Khalifa, Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Yas Mall and Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi in the UAE, Aspire and Tornado Towers in Qatar and the Four Seasons Hotel in Bahrain King Abdulla Sports City in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Throughout the evening HE Saeed bin Ahmed Al Otaiba, was delighted to reminisce over the organisation’s development in Abu Dhabi, which he helped create through the successful leadership. “We are blessed to have a strong association with HE Saeed bin Ahmed Al Otaiba, who helped Six Construct establish itself by building its very first project in 1965 - the Abu Dhabi Corniche. We are proud to be part of the UAE’s history, and are ready to build for the future. Fifty years of success, and fifty years more to come,” quoted Pierre Sironval.
The evening was concluded with a spectacular performance by SPECTRA, a world renowned Malaysian dance group.
