The announcement took place during DSOA’s Happiness Forum, held at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City in the presence of Dr Juma Al Matrooshi, Deputy CEO, Operations and Client Affairs, Ghanim Al Falasi, Senior Vice President of Corporate Services, and other DSOA senior executives.

The event also drew the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Dubai Police, University of Dubai, Dubai Corporation For Ambulance Services, Dubai Airport Freezone Authority, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Dubai Culture, Dubai Ports, General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, Drydocks World, Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, Etisalat, and Roads and Transport Authority.

The Happiness Forum also saw the launch of DSOA’s happiness logo and a presentation of the entity’s achievements in corporate happiness, conceptualized as an initiative in 2013 and upgraded into a comprehensive strategy in 2014 to become a key pillar of the overall DSOA 2021 Strategy. The second generation of the Corporate Happiness Framework is based upon three pillars – well-being and happiness, productivity and loyalty, and effective measurement of happiness initiatives with continuous improvement.

In line with DSOA’s commitment to the Happiness Agenda, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the forum highlighted one of the achievements – the graduation of 27 UAE nationals who have earned their Corporate Happiness Diploma from Rochester Institute of Technology – Dubai (RIT Dubai). Offered in collaboration with DSOA and Smart Dubai Office with high-level input from Gallup, the program is the first of its kind in the Middle East.

Speaking during the ceremony, Dr Al Matrooshi said: “In line with the Dubai Plan 2021 and the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to make the UAE the happiest country in the world, we have refreshed DSOA’s Corporate Happiness Framework. To ensure that all our departments perform to global standards, we are dedicated to enhancing the satisfaction and happiness of our employees.”

He proceeded to praise the efforts of all government entities and many private sector organizations to support the UAE’s Happiness Agenda. The UAE has ranked as the happiest country in the GCC region for two consecutive years according to the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network’s World Happiness Report that rates countries based on happiness levels using factors such as GDP per capita and healthy years of life expectancy.

A wholly owned entity of the government of Dubai, Dubai Silicon Oasis operates as a free zone technology park for large enterprises as well as medium and small companies looking to establish regional headquarters and research and development centers in the region.
