Anita Gigi Budai is the founder and CEO of Anita Gigi interior design practice, which was founded in 2010 and specialises in exhibition design and spatial experiences. Having studied Interior Design and curation in Melbourne, Australia, Anita delves into the international art world, embracing art, artists, artifacts and architecture to turn her ideas into beautiful spaces that enrich the experience of the viewer on their exhibition journey. Anita is an expert in creating design that honours the content and narrative of curated themes, presenting seamless, beguiling, unique and memorable experiences.
Anita’s design philosophy is reflected in her design and project management of prominent international exhibitions, such as: Tracey Moffatt’s My Horizon at the Venice Art Biennale 2017, the V&A’s Hollywood Costumes and was thrilled to deliver the David Bowie Is to enthusiastic Melbourne audiences and fans.
From a micro to macro perspective Anita Gigi designs exhibitions/spaces that complement the art works, experimenting with ideas and activating spaces that trigger experience design. The outcome is the delivery of innovative and inspiring well-known exhibitions. Anita Gigi’s passion and specialty is in fashion, film, digital media and experience design such as: Scorcese, Denis Hopper and The New Hollywood, Marilyn Monroe, Orry-Kelly: Dressing Hollywood, Wallace & Gromit and Friends: The Magic of Aardman, Lisa Reihana: In Pursuit of Venus, Greg Semu: The Raft of Tagata Pacifica, Spectacle: The Music Video Exhibition and Relay: Christian Marclay.
